I'm a retired pastor, a husband to my wonderful wife Nancy, a father to two daughters, and a proud grandfather of three. After more than 25 years serving as Lead Pastor at the Chicago Church of Christ, I stepped into a new chapter — one I've been quietly building on the side for over two decades.
My journey into selling started the way most good things do: out of curiosity and a little stubbornness. I began flipping antiques and old sports memorabilia — learning the rhythms of the market, what buyers valued, and how to spot something special in a pile of ordinary. Over time, I drifted toward precision industrial tools. Not because I came from a manufacturing background — I didn't — but because almost nobody else was doing it well. The space was wide open, the items were fascinating, and the buyers were serious professionals who appreciated honesty.
Twenty-four years of trial and error later, I know this niche inside and out. I know the difference between a worn insert lot and a genuinely useful one. I know which Mitutoyo micrometers hold calibration and which don't. That knowledge lives in every listing I write.

The name discipleed isn't an accident. I'm a disciple of Jesus, and my name is Ed. Simple as that. The same integrity I brought to the pulpit is the same integrity I bring to every transaction. When I describe an item, I describe it honestly. When something has wear, I say so. When it's exceptional, I say that too.
Now that I'm fully retired from ministry and living in Atlanta close to my daughters and grandchildren, discipleed is my full-time focus. I'm not a warehouse. I'm not a reseller clearing pallets. I'm one person who personally handles, inspects, photographs, and ships every item — because that's the only way I know how to do it.
